Coach Chris Skinner Announced as Talent Scout for 2026 All State Game

Coach Skinner brings four years of football coaching experience and serves as the director of football operations at his school in Hephzibah, GA. He coaches athletes across 6th, 7th, 8th and high school levels, working hands-on in practice and game-day preparation. The role at his school has placed Skinner in daily contact with young players, and that concrete day-to-day leadership is what earned him a spot on the ASG talent board.

Chris Skinner joins the 2027 ASG Georgia Boys Basketball event in Atlanta as a Talent Scout, charged with identifying and nominating deserving 6th–8th grade athletes across the state. He will act as a validator for the Georgia football community, serving on the selection committee that cuts through hype to find players who belong on the All State Game stage. Skinner’s remit includes protecting the integrity of the process, building connections with other top coaches, and helping athletes from small towns and underfunded programs get the recognition they deserve.

Skinner coaches with a disciplined, workmanlike approach: he emphasizes skill development, repetition, and hard work. He has said he loves working and teaching kids the game of football, and his scouting checklist reflects that practical focus. When evaluating prospects he looks for four specific things: Good Attitude, are you coachable, can you take criticism, and football IQ — do you know how to play football. That shortlist guides Skinner’s nominations and his priorities in practice sessions for middle school and high school athletes.

As a Talent Scout, Coach Skinner will also help fight the “geography of obscurity,” ensuring a zip code or a family’s bank account doesn’t determine opportunity. If his first four years of coaching are any indication, Skinner will use his director-level experience and hands-on knowledge to surface overlooked talent for ASG’s 2027 roster.
