Coach Mitchell Jenkins Announced as Talent Scout for 2026 All State Game

Coach Jenkins has over 20 years of football coaching experience in Missouri, including five years as a head varsity football coach. He coaches 6th, 7th, 8th grades and high school players and is based in Columbia, MO. A 2005 graduate of Missouri Valley College, Jenkins currently teaches STEM at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Jefferson City. He lives in Columbia with his wife Amanda, daughter Belle and dog Fluffy Rue.

As the Talent Scout for ASG Missouri Football, Coach Jenkins will serve as a validator for the Missouri football community at the 2027 All State Game in Kansas City. He will identify and nominate deserving athletes in 6th, 7th and 8th grades who demonstrate exceptional skill and character, and he will sit on a selection committee that cuts through hype to find athletes who truly belong on the All State Game stage. Jenkins will act as a gatekeeper who protects the integrity of the selection process, helping talented kids in small towns or underfunded programs get the recognition they deserve and fighting the “geography of obscurity” so that a zip code or a parent’s bank account doesn’t determine opportunity.

His coaching philosophy is simple: We use football to win kids, we don’t use kids to win football games. That approach will guide Jenkins as he builds connections with other top coaches in the Missouri football network and evaluates candidates against concrete standards of play and character. As a Talent Scout he also positions himself to progress into roles such as Community Champion or Regional Director, continuing to push for access and visibility for players across the state.
