Coach Daniel Laikona Announced as Talent Scout for 2026 All State Game

Coach Laikona, a dedicated volleyball coach hailing from Arizona, is now taking on a pivotal role as a Talent Scout for the ASG Washington Girls Volleyball in Seattle, WA. Known for his ability to build competitive, disciplined, and team-oriented programs, Laikona currently coaches at Phoenix College. His unique coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in his Hawaiian heritage, emphasizing ohana—or family—alongside respect, accountability, and unity.

Laikona's experience spans multiple levels, including high school and club volleyball, where he has developed a reputation for instilling discipline and igniting a passion for the game among his players. His ability to connect with athletes and motivate teams is evident in his work, not least in the development of his daughter, Pulelehua Laikona, one of the nation's top liberos who has committed to the University of Nebraska volleyball program.

In his new role, Laikona will identify and nominate promising athletes in grades 6 through 8, ensuring that those with exceptional skill and character are recognized, regardless of their geographic or economic backgrounds.
