Coach Tyler Card Announced as Talent Scout for 2026 All State Game

Tyler Card, who has led Greensboro College's football program since 2020, has been appointed as a Talent Scout for the ASG South Carolina Football. In his seventh season with Greensboro by 2026, Coach Card has honed his skills developing young athletes at various levels, including sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, as well as high school.

During his tenure at Greensboro College, Card's leadership landed him several accolades, despite facing challenging seasons. In 2024, the Pride boasted six USA South All-Conference players, with the defense ranking fourth in interceptions and sacks in the conference. Notably, in 2023, Larry Jones was named USA South Defensive Rookie of the Year, with several players receiving First and Second Team All-Conference honors. His coaching prowess extends back to his time at Sul Ross State University, where he orchestrated the program's first winning season in 20 years with a 6-4 record in 2016, and nurtured 32 offensive All-Conference players over five years.

Card's commitment to fostering talent is further evidenced by his role at Pace University, where he contributed to breaking a 38-game losing streak. His coaching career began at his alma mater, Southern Virginia University, where he was a standout offensive lineman, NAIA All-Independent First Team honoree, and NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.

As a Talent Scout, Coach Card will serve as a vital link in discovering and promoting exceptional young football talent across South Carolina. His role involves identifying middle school athletes who possess both skill and character, ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve. "Geography should never determine a player's opportunity," Card has consistently emphasized, and he brings this philosophy to his new role, determined to fight the "geography of obscurity."

With a B.A. from Southern Virginia and two Master's degrees, Card's academic background complements his on-field expertise. His new position with the All State Game will undoubtedly benefit from his extensive experience and dedication to fostering young athletic talent.
